Lewis Albert Andres, MD
"What is best in me I owe to my family. The virtues instilled in me at a young age as well as my experiences with patients have cultivated my dedication, honesty, and compassion as a cosmetic plastic surgeon. I cherish the interaction with my patients and am privileged to care for and support them with the comfort and competence I will provide."
Dr. Lewis Albert Andres is relatively new to Phoenix, and is a well-trained reconstructive and plastic surgeon. He has advanced training in aesthetic procedures of the face, body, and breast, as well as hand surgery and body contouring after massive weight loss. He has a particular interest in reconstructive surgery, including cancers of the breast, soft tissues, head & neck, and skin. His extensive experience as a plastic surgeon brings Scottsdale and Phoenix the newest and most innovative techniques in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Andres matriculated from Columbia University with undergraduate degrees in Biology and Political Science. He then achieved his graduate schooling in Neuroscience and medical degrees and training from Harvard University and Michigan State University. While at MSU, he completed the five-year combined general/plastic surgery residency at the well-respected Grand Rapids/Michigan State University, considered the oldest combined plastic surgical training program in the United States. During his residency training, Dr. Andres cultivated his fondness of breast surgery and reconstruction, learning from many world experts in this field, including Dr. Dennis Hammond. With an ultimate goal of providing the newest and best techniques to his patients, he sought additional fellowship training in Advanced Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at the internationally-renowned Mayo Clinic. At the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Andres trained with leaders in hand and microsurgery as well as breast reconstruction surgery and is now a specialist in breast, hand and microsurgery. He offers microsurgical and perforator flap reconstruction, including DIEP, SIEA, SGAP, TUG, TAP, ALT, and others, for his cancer patients and understands the harrowing experiences that these patients endure. During his fellowship, he had advanced training in cosmetic procedures of the face and body, working with one of the pioneers in plastic surgery, Dr. Jack Friedland. He is dedicated to working with his patients through these events with competence, compassion, and respect.
Throughout his education and training, Dr. Andres has garnered numerous accolades for his academic accomplishments and his mentoring of medical students and residents. He has been published in numerous medical journals and presented at national and international conferences on his works in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
