A facelift in Scottsdale and Phoenix at Advanced Aesthetic Associates can help restore the youthful volume, contour, and shape of the face. Our board-certified plastic surgeons often combine this procedure with a neck lift to give patients a more complete rejuvenation. Women and men enjoy looking 5 to 10 years younger after these procedures without looking overdone.

Benefits of a Face & Neck Lift

The face undergoes many changes with time, weight fluctuations, and exposure to the environment. The skin becomes thinner and less elastic, the cheeks and temples lose volume and become hollow, soft-tissue droops, and even the facial bones change in volume and shape. Our surgeons perform face and neck lift surgery in Scottsdale and Phoenix to restore a younger appearance to the face, cheeks, jowls, and neck by:

  • Lifting sagging skin and tissue
  • Smoothing wrinkles, lines, and vertical neck bands
  • Restoring volume, tone, and contour

How Much Does a Facelift Cost?

Facelift procedures vary widely in cost with the complexity of the surgery but typically range from $8,500 to $16,000. Neck lifts range between $6,000 and $8,000. Combination procedures typically cost less than having each procedure performed separately. For the highest safety and results that look natural, it's essential to choose a surgeon who is qualified and experienced in performing cosmetic facelift and neck lift surgery instead of choosing one who gives you the lowest price. Rejuvenating the Face & Neck

The many cosmetic procedures that exist to rejuvenate the appearance of the face and neck should be tailored to your individual needs and goals. Dr. Prichard, Dr. Repta, Dr. Andres, and Dr. Mussman have the experience and skills to help you regain your youthful appearance through one or more of the following procedures:

  • A complete facelift and neck lift rejuvenates the lower two-thirds of the face.
  • A minimal scar facelift (also called a MACS lift, S-lift, and mini facelift) addresses early signs of aging in the lower face and neck with shorter incisions and less skin removed. Recovery time is typically shorter than for a complete facelift.
  • Fat grafting and injectable fillers replace lost facial volume on areas such as the cheeks and temples.
  • Liposculpture removes fat deposits from the jawline, under the chin, and other areas.
  • Cheek implants restore a rounded, more youthful appearance to the apples of the cheeks.

For more complete rejuvenation of the entire face, our surgeons also perform procedures such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and brow lift surgery. If you're not quite ready for surgery, you may want to consider Ultherapy®, a fast, effective treatment that lifts and tightens the skin on the face and neck.

Your Facelift Surgery

Our surgeons perform facelift procedures as outpatient surgery using IV sedation or general anesthesia, which is delivered under the care of a board-certified anesthesiologist. The surgical time varies with the type of facelift you are having and whether it is combined with other procedures.

The surgeon begins facelift surgery by placing an incision along the hairline above the ear. For a complete facelift, the incision is typically placed just in front of the ear, around the earlobe, and ending in the hairline behind the ear. Through the incision the surgeon tightens deeper levels of skin and muscle. The skin of the face is lifted and redraped, and excess skin is removed. The surgeon may make a small incision in the crease behind the chin for correcting any neck bands and removing a double-chin or excess fat in the area.

What to Expect During Recovery

After your face and neck lift, you return home with the areas wrapped in bandages. Pain is usually minimal and can be controlled with oral medication. You can minimize swelling by keeping your head elevated as much as possible for the first 24 hours. Sleeping in a recliner or with extra pillows behind your head is helpful.

Most patients feel ready to return to work within 1 to 3 weeks, once most of the swelling and bruising has faded.
